In professional golf, winning all four major tournaments in professional golf is known as the Grand Slam. These tournaments include the Masters Championship, US Open championship, the Open Championship, and the US PGA championship.

The Masters tournament takes place in the first week of April when it inaugurates the key games. The tournament is regularly held in Augusta National Golf club, a private course in Georgia. Only an invitation is required to take part in the tournament. The price for winning includes a green jacket which is a symbol of the club membership. The winner is required to return the jacket the following year.

Secondly, the US open is widely recognized as the most tasking tournament worldwide. Because the golf courses are constructed with difficult conditions specific to the tournament, the surface of the course is uneven, with the holes surrounded by various obstacles. The winner is determined by the number of strokes, the player with the lowest total number of strokes is the winner.

Meanwhile, the Open Championship is considered the most prestigious because of where it is held; Britain. It holds on traditional courses with a very hard and demanding surface. The winner of the Open championship is named the Champion Golfer of the Year.

Lastly, the US PGA championship organized by the Professional Golfers Association is dedicated to professional players who meet very demanding criteria. The price for winning includes numerous guaranteed privileges, including taking part in three other Grand Slam tournaments for the next five years and lifetime possibility to participate in the US PGA.
